About This Game Bounce is a VR physics-based puzzle game for the HTC Vive and Oculus Touch. Under the supervision of H8-Bit and 2Bit, two robots tasked with overseeing security of the intergalactic spaceship, players must help D1G-B, their spherical robot companion, traverse levels using an array of gadgets at their disposal to exit each level’s portal. Played the demo and bought it right away....Then I spent the whole night playing it. VR needs more full games like this. 9\/10!. I completed 16 of the 50 puzzles in my first sitting and had a wonderful time. I always know I'm onto something special when I smile the whole time I'm playing (and I am horribly depressed, so this game performed a minor miracle). I love puzzle games like this: physical, practical, immediate, rather than esoteric "puzzles that god made when drunk and in a whimsical mood" type stuff that leaves me baffled and frustrated.The goal of each room is simple (but not at all!): get the little robot ball from where he emerges to the exit point. Each room gives you a selection of bounce pads, tubes, boost rings etc., that you can place anywhere to create a marble madness style course. You get ranked on your designs, with more stars awarded for using fewer pieces (and possibly other criteria I don’t understand – I wasn’t always sure why I scored highly or poorly). I usually ended up using most of my pieces and creating inelegant courses but I didn’t care because I was enjoying myself. Your robot ball will bounce, boost, shoot over obstacles, get pulled by tractor beans, and ricochet round corners. It's so satisfying and playful, no matter how messy and makeshift your constructions. The physics are solid, natural and reliable, and I didn't give them a second thought, which is just as it should be. You only notice physics in games if they’re wrong or glitchy. The music is catchy too. Thanks to VR you’ll be viewing your arrangements from all angles, tweaking and perfecting; you’ll feel very present and rooted in this world and have a sense of the solidity of your constructions. Yes, it would work as a flatscreen first person game, but the child in you will appreciate the mansize Mouse Traps (look it up if you’re not as old as me. It’s a board game from the Jurassic period). Anyway, I loved it. I am also a fan of the Talos Principal, The Swapper, Clank’s puzzle bits in Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, and both Portal games, so that might give you an idea of the sort of puzzle game fan I am and whether Bounce might be for you. It's fantastically priced too.(I played on the Oculus Rift, front facing only with limited space. I had no problem playing because the game has a directional teleport system and click turning. It also has crouch, which was great because my tracking loses me if I bend too low). Initial review which will be updated after more playtime (but in the meantime, this game needs to be seen by more people!):This game is great. It's one of those puzzle games where you got to get your little guy to some end goal by building a track with various properties. What's great about this in VR is you can really get a feel for the 3D configuration that you're building and can watch from wherever you want. Bought a VR bundle specifically for this and was not disappointed. I'm only through the first 10 puzzles. They've been easy so far, but I see the complexity ramping now. Since this is a physics puzzler, there are a lot of different solutions for each one. It feels satisfying tweaking the different components to get a minimalist solution just right.. This reminds me of The Incredible Machine but in 3D room-scale. You move a ball from one spot to another using a limited number of planks, conveyor belts, pipes, fans, trampolines, etc. Even a tiny change in angle of one item changes everything. It's awesome.. This simulation provides a great introduction to physics concepts. Players need to create a Rube Goldberg type of contraption to maneuver a virtual marble to a target. Users experiment with angles, slope, and speed to complete the challenge. My middle school students were discussing momentum and distance, completely oblivious to the fact that they were demonstrating their understanding of content because they were so intent on working together to get to the next level. This series of levels makes this an easy game to use with a large group and helps users build on prior knowledge to achieve success.
