I bought it because the concept seemed interesting but the interface started off clunky and after ~a half-hour I couldn't decide if I want to sink more time into getting better or just cut my loses. After giving it another thirty minutes I will keep playing. Control of the characters is still a little clunkly, with characters frequently going not quite where I want them to go, but once I got a better handle on the game play I was able to start enjoying the play of the game.. if you like being a criminal underground mob boss overseeing evrything this is amazing but the only thing i think would be a good tool in the game is pause planning it is needed for useing 4 thieves in heists and also a keybind system would be amazing but even without this the game is still playable and the camera can be controled by the mouse for the people complaining about the arrow keys. last thing, i think this is great and there is plenty of ways to do heists but getting gold is a constant struggle. the gold is the main worry (and death as well but whatever) the items are not worth♥♥♥♥♥♥unless you pick your heist location in a good spot but even then the gold for the RNG and the chance of inprisonment and death isint worh the gold takehome unless you got some good skills and keep track of guards then your good.. Great game. Loads of fun and would recommend to everyone!. I like the artstyle and the theme but the core heist gameplay is just not that fun. I played until the second area to see if anything changed but it seemed to be more of the same so i lost interest. The guild management seems quite shallow and mainly consisted of training your thieves and deciding how to sell the loot. The actual heists take place in these 2D levels where you explore building trying to find loot while avoiding guards. Some thieves can fight the guards and some can jump from buildings or pick locks but it is just not that interesting in general and it doesn't feel either tense or tactical. Some general points: Boring loot All houses feels the same I don't like that "stealth" is a finite resource. The tension is removed at the start of the level since you know you will be safe no matter what. If the stealth resource is low then there is no point in hiding and a mad dash is the only option. Overall i like the idea but it was just not for me.. What a game this could of been. It had so much potential but its riddled with bugs, and game play choices that make little sense. Cool Concept, Could of been executed better.. I like the overworld map and it's actions but heists just do not feel fun at all. It's the bad kind of challenging because the stealth aspect just feels way off. Mostly that's because there is no guard patrol routes or predictability you can exploit like in any good stealth game. They just run to and fro or stand still so it's mostly just blind luck.. I'm sad to see such a low rating for this game (though, that tends to come whenever a developer moves on to new projects).I have this game tagged as Crime Boss, which is one of my favourite genres. It's a fairly rare niche, and when a game does its own interpretation and does it well, that makes it practically exceptional in my book. And wow, c'mon, the core gameplay is catburglary. You'll practically never find games that do it well, and when they come close (in games like Dishonoured or Deus Ex), they're so bogged down with environmental story-telling or setpiece action sequences that you lose the basic thrill of tip-toeing around where you shouldn't be. The burgling is very much a 2D puzzle experience, finding sightlines and convenient leaps and knowing which doors should just be left locked for your own sake. It's really vital to develop skills amongst your roster of thieves so that you have a wide range of abiilities available when you're on the job. Though, the occasional lone-wolf with the perfect mix of skills can be an amazing thieving experience as well.The overall aesthetic is lovely, the gameplay is fairly unique but eminently fulfilling if you enjoy its style. If you can imagine yourself enjoying this game, i'd wager it will satisfy your interests. I am upvoting this not because I am telling you to get the game, but rather to show both the developer and community that this game has POTENTAL. First thing is the art is AMAZING, along with the UI being for the most part functional as intended. Keeping in mind that this game is made by ONE PERSON leads me to say that while I am refunding for the time being, I will be keeping a close eye on this game should the in-heist mechanics be changed to something more befitting of a rogue game, the main part of this being detection and the guard AI. As other people have stated, killing one guard should not mean that every other guard and there mother knows about that thief now, along with being unable to have anyway of regaining your stealth once your detection bar reaches zero for any one rogue. These two pieces alone are crtical enough in most missions that in most times it can be infurating, especially when guards randomly search various houses along with the current hiding machanic. Overall as stated previously, some key things in this game need to be changed to make this amazing looking game just as great as it looks.. A little rough in the beginning, but worth spending some extra time with.
